Medical Services & Pet Vaccinations in Vancouver

Animals aren’t able to articulate their medical needs. If they experience discomfort, they can’t describe the symptoms, so your pet requires careful diagnosis from a professional veterinarian. For general healthcare and more, take your pet to Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital. We offer a range of medical services, including pet vaccinations. Vancouver’s pet owners have come to trust us with the maintenance of their animal’s health. Bring your pet to Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital for periodic appointments with a vet, where we can offer a general checkup and diagnosis of any issues that may be going on. If you notice your animal behaving differently or experiencing pain, early treatment is the best approach. Or take preventative action now and ensure your animal has his/her initial pet vaccinations and boosters. Schedule an appointment with our team today.

Pet Vaccinations in Vancouver

At Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital, we believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That’s why we offer a full range of pet vaccinations for Vancouver pets. Even if they are an indoor pet, they can still be at risk of catching diseases. Insects, bats, and other pests seek shelter inside and carry and transmit various infections. Additionally, some animals may have diseases that run in the family and may need additional help fighting them off. Whatever the case, we recommend bringing your pet in for vaccinations at Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital in Vancouver.

Some common illnesses that require vaccinations include:

  • Distemper – this is a virus that weakens the immune system and attacks the blood cells. It is fatal and spreads rapidly so make sure you protect your kitten or puppy against it.
  • Canine parvovirus – a contagious viral disease that attacks cells and can cause cardiovascular problems and even death.
  • Hepatitis – This inflames the liver and causes severe symptoms such as vomiting and fever.
  • Rabies – this vaccine is a legal requirement. Rabies is fatal and has no known treatment, so getting a vaccine is essential to protecting your pet. Rabies can also be spread to humans.

Vaccines should be done every other year or so. If you are unsure, please visit our clinic and ask one of our veterinarians as to the correct vaccine schedule for your pet.

Pet vaccinations are important and Vancouver’s Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital recommends you bring your cat or dog into our clinic to make sure they’re well-protected.
